Afternoon Tea at Palm Court (The Langham Hotel London)

*EDIT*: Visited again for high tea. In addition to the sandwiches I got canapes, choice of an omelette or something similar to eggs benedict, pumpkin soup, different desserts, and a visit from a guy in a top hat (they have a special 1865 Langham high tea at 7:00pm). The guy came over tipped his hat to us and offered us champagne (the good kind).

If I'm going to do tea in London, I'm going to do it right. After some research I found that Palm Court had been awarded top afternoon tea 2010 the tea guild. Winner! This place has the best of everything except for scones (they were good, but I've had better in the States).

For tea I choose a jasmine infused white tea. It was very fragrant. Sandwiches included: Duck egg and mustard cress, cream cheese and picalili, poached scottish salmon and cucumber, pastrami and marie rose, coronation chicken. The pastrami wrap was disappointing, especially since I tried that last, but all the other sandwiches were amazing. The desserts were inspired by famous jewels. They were beautiful and delicious. They included: Asprey diamonds, Baccarat eclipse, Chanel pearl, Delices de Cartier, Bulgari B.zero.  The room was so sophisticated and all the tables were either couches or comfy arm chairs. There was a live pianist playing on a gorgeous black grand piano. This place is every little girls tea dream come true.
